Upgrade/Migrate Phone System

Client: City of San Juan Capistrano

Interwest’s IT Services team assisted the City of San Juan Capistrano by writing an RFP and going out to bid for a new phone system, as the City’s current provider was unable to administer all of the resources that the City required to function and maintain their current phone system. By composing an RFP and going out to bid, the City saved approximately $30K annually; savings which allowed the City to upgrade its backend fiber infrastructure. The key role of our Interwest IT Services team was to help facilitate the RFP, implement, migrate and project manage the new phone system for the City of San Juan Capistrano.

Public Safety Radio System Upgrade

Client: City of Bell

Interwest’s IT Services team worked with the City to implement a new $350K radio system that supports dual-band VHF (old system/backup) and UHF (new system) and allows dispatchers and officers to switch between both systems, if needed. The project scope required our team to determine current system limitation requirements, as well as evaluate and select proposals from ICI (selected) and LARIC. Our team at Interwest also managed the complete project implementation which included scheduling/running weekly meetings, ordering circuits, maintaining the AT&T Audiolog and recording system changes to add new channels, and lastly scheduling and monitoring vendor access. Additionally, Interwest performed installation services which included two dispatch consoles/radio systems, outdoor VHF and UHF antennas, server and backroom equipment, redundant UPS power for all equipment, and 25 new radios. Interwest completed the final delivery in October of 2019 and proudly continues to provide testing and troubleshooting services today.
