Rob’s career spans over 40 years of experience in the planning, design, construction and management of public water systems in California. He has served numerous public and private clients as an engineering consultant, worked in engineering and executive management roles for national and international investor-owned water utilities, and served as General Manager for Sacramento Suburban Water District for 15 years. He has also served in leadership positions with a substantial number of regional and statewide organizations and has been honored with the Distinguished Service Award from the Regional Water Authority and an Award for Lifetime Achievement in California from the American Society of Civil Engineers. In 2017, the ACWA awarded Rob their Emissary Award which is given for “remarkable and visible contributions to the enhancement, protection and development of water resources in California.” He continues to represent northern California on the ASCE California Water and Environment Committee and serves on the Groundwater Resources Association’s California Legislative Committee.

Throughout his career, Rob has been a strong advocate for open and transparent governance, sustainable water resources, and stable finances including long-term asset management. He continues that mission now, supported by a team whose integrity and approach to problem-solving that he appreciates.

When he’s away from his desk, Rob enjoys spending time with his grandsons and taking trips to his cabin in northern California.
