Interwest can investigate and collect data regarding traffic safety. Our personnel has participated in public outreach programs through neighborhood and city council meetings and can also handle day to day inquiries from the public through the internet or by phone.
Transportation Management Centers (TMC) can remotely operate and monitor traffic signal operations for local agencies. Personnel are notified of malfunctions and can make changes to signal timing without going to the intersection. Interwest can operate and maintain your existing TMC. We coordinate and oversee the personnel that sets signal timing and maintenance policies or we can create these policies as needed for approval.
Our staff can be hired to review both public and private plans to check adherence to federal, state, and local agency requirements and guidelines.
Interwest can help collect and prepare speed surveys, traffic count, collision history, and field observation data along with the staff reports necessary to establish proper speed limits for your agency. We can also maintain and update the system as necessary to accommodate growth.
Interwest has served as the contract City Traffic Engineer for various agencies and can review aspects such as driveway spacing, driveway width, driveway throat length, parking capacity, aisle widths, drive-through storage, onsite circulation, and potential visibility obstruction by proposed landscaping.
