Bell High Receives New Scholarship Program
New scholarship program announced for Bell High School. Home to more than 3300 students with over 800 seniors, this program will help seniors attend universities and colleges throughout the United States. The “Future Scholars of Bell” scholarship program was created by Terry Rodrigue, CEO of Interwest Consulting Group (“Interwest”) and is designed to provide students, who reside in the City of Bell, the support necessary to achieve their goal of higher education. The program, in its inaugural year, is made possible through generous donations from business owners endeavoring to make a difference.“We are delighted to introduce this important program for the youth of Bell,” said Terry Rodrigue. “Interwest has had the pleasure of working with this hard working community since 2010 and to be able to give back in a very specific way and impact the lives of the students for years to come is truly rewarding. As a father of two and a business owner, I am very excited and proud to be a part of such a memorable program. Recipients of the 2014 Future Scholars of Bell will receive a contribution ranging from $1500 - $10,000. We have received 36 applications and up to 10 different scholarships will be awarded. Located in Northern California, the City of Rancho Cordova is just east of Sacramento. With roots in the California gold rush, early railroading, and vineyard agriculture, the city is rich in community pride and has a diverse population of more than 66,000 residents.
The Growing Strong Neighborhoods initiative is a cooperative effort among various departments and agencies to improve the appearance of properties, overall safety, and quality of life in Rancho Cordova. The city focuses efforts to establish pride and investment at the local community level with the goals of connecting residents as part of a common cause, ensuring residents feel safe in their environment, creating a thriving business climate, and increasing communication opportunities between the community and the city. Interwest featured in US Builders Review
The year 2012 marked the 10-year anniversary of Interwest Consulting Group Inc. (Interwest). The Interwest team specializes in providing professional and consulting services to municipalities for all services provided by city or county public works, engineering and building departments.
Founded in 2002 by Terry Rodrigue, Interwest started out as a one-man band. “At the time, it was just me,” recalls Rodrigue. As a Maine native, Rodrigue grew up on the East Coast. He went to the University of Maine and graduated with a civil engineering degree. After graduating, Rodrigue packed his things and headed for Los Angeles. Slowly but surely, the city is revving up its fight against neighborhood blight.
After laying off its entire code enforcement division three years ago, and after months of residential complaints, Antioch leaders put money late last year toward restarting the battle against problem homes and excessive trash on properties.
There have been some delays in hiring, but the city is now actively cracking down on violations.
"It's a start. There's definitely been a missing link," said Ryan Graham, Antioch's deputy director of community development.

Sitting in front of your own computer, you now have access to all of this information through the city's new mapping system.
This week, the city relaunched the geographic information system on its website. The mapping software allows both city employees and members of the public to search for an address. Then the program scans data and overlays maps to provide a variety of information. Continue.
December 4, 2011 - Interwest Consulting Group (Interwest) purchased Naffa, Inc. (Naffa), an engineering company headquartered in Fresno, California. Naffa provides Building and Safety plan check services to municipal clients throughout the Central Valley region and beyond.
Sadly, the owner, Imad Naffa, died suddenly on September 6, 2011. Mr. Naffa started the company in 2001. He was passionate about his business and built a solid engineering firm with a great reputation in the building industry and with their clients.
